A Glimpse Into A New Wagon Model: Introducing The 2024 Volkswagen Passat

A ninth-generation Volkswagen Passat will be released as a wagon to join the lineup. This new vehicle will be built on the MQB Evo platform beside the 2024 Tiguan, and both models will also share much of the same hardware. Inside the Passat model, there will be more legroom and cargo space which is a huge bonus.
Much carries over from the Tiguan model, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a large 12.9-inch touchscreen. Even under the hood, Volkswagen will put in different powertrains, and the battery will include DC charging. The 2024 Passat will offer LED headlights that are extremely powerful to help see at night. Let’s dive into the Volkswagen Tiguan car model to understand better what to expect from the Passat model.
2023 Volkswagen Tiguan
The new 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan receives some needed updates, including a few new color choices and a brand new design for the SE R-Line vehicles wheels. A vehicle similar to the Tiguan is the VW Taos, but it’s a bit smaller and less expensive. The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan has four trim levels: S, SE, SE R-Line, and the SEL R-Line. The most popular trim level for the 2022 Tiguan is the R-Line, which is expected to be the same for the 2023 model.
Inside this compact crossover SUV is a third row of seats for front-wheel-drive vehicles. The starting price for the 2023 Tiguan is $26,950 (plus destination fee). For the car’s exterior look, the design is similar to its forerunners, including the thin grille that integrates into the headlamps. The R-Line car models have a sportier look, like the fender, LED headlights, and a lit-up grille.
The interior of the SUV is very stylish, with leather seats, seat stitching, and a digital instrument panel. There is also an 8.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and multiple USB-C outlets. There is an 8.0-inch display screen for the instrument cluster on the lower-end models, but the digital instrument cluster is 10.3 inches on the higher-end models. Every Tiguan model comes with heated front seats, but only the power adjustment for the driver seats starts at the SE trim.
Another cool feature is that the ride for the Tiguan is very smooth and comfortable, with lots of room for passengers and storage. For the all-wheel drive, the second row has 38.7 inches of legroom and has large back doors for easy in and out access. The cargo space is around 38 cubic feet and expands to 73.4 cubic feet when the second row is folded down. The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan has a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine, 184 horsepower, 221 pound-feet of torque, and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
What makes the Tiguan a fan favorite is the smoothness when driving, and that is because of the 17 and 18-inch wheels on the S and SE trims. Front-wheel-drive models get 23 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway.
