Volkswagen ID. Buzz

Recently, deliveries have started in Europe for the popular Volkswagen ID. Buzz. An announcement came from the German tuner ABT that there will be roof-mounted solar panels added to the electric van to improve driving range and power equipment. If the van is parked or driving, the solar panels will send 600 watts to the battery pack.

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz gets 204 horsepower and 258 miles of driving range. A cool thing about the solar panels is that they will help power camping equipment, lighting, and the sound system. ABT’s roof-mounted solar panel production should start sometime in the beginning of 2024. Currently, there is no set price on how much these solar panels will cost for this electric van, but customers sure are excited to put in an order when the time comes.

More Info On The Retro Van

If the 2024 Volkswagen ID. Buzz looks familiar, that is because the design of this new electric vehicle is based on the iconic Type 2 Microbus, which inspired the retro design. The VW ID. Buzz had sold out in Europe months before customer deliveries were supposed to happen. There were 10,000 cars made, and Norway grabbed 3,400 of them. German buyers got 2,500 vans, and Belgium and the Netherlands received 2,100 vans between them. The U.K. will receive the electric vehicle sometime in early 2023, but the U.S. will have to wait until early 2024. Having these vans grabbed up so quickly shows how much of a hot commodity they are.

The U.S. version features flexible seating and three rows that seat seven. The front seats have adjustable armrests and tables that fold out of the backrests for rear-seating passengers. Another great perk of this vehicle is the storage space which offers up to 40 cubic feet. This proves how spacious the vehicle is for the whole family. The expected starting rate for this E.V. van is around $40,000.

An excellent idea the company plans on doing is introducing a plug-and-charge technology that gets rid of the need to use an app or a card for payment to unlock the charger. The American ID. Buzz will get 260 miles of range per charge. Europe plans on getting both a commercial and passenger version of the I.D. Buzz, America is getting just the long-wheelbase passenger one. This SUV has a touchscreen that is 10.0 inches, and a 12.0-inch display is optional. The expected ID. Buzz should come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a subscription-based WIFI hotspot, and wireless device charging.

ID. Buzz GTX

An exciting vehicle coming out is the Volkswagen ID. Buzz GTX which joins the VW electric vehicle lineup. There will eventually be more GTX models coming out soon, and an incredible perk of this is that there will be a GTX symbol on the bottom of the steering wheel with red accents around it. Other electric vehicles in the GTX lineup are the ID.4 GTX and the ID.5 GTX. With GTX in the name, it has dual electric motors, which help provide the SUVs with all-wheel drive and a combined output of 295 horsepower and 339 pound-feet.

There are a few changes that come with the ID. Buzz GTX, including new lights, bumpers, wheels, and a sportier exterior look. Further features include a gloss black GTX logo and 20-inch wheels with maybe an option to go a little bigger. The GTX logo will be featured outside the SUV, on the steering wheel, and on the backrests of the seats to give it a sportier look.

The Wait Is Almost Over

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz won’t last long once it hits dealerships, so don’t let this impressive vehicle slip by without putting an order in. The roof-mounted solar panels are one of the many reasons why the ID. Buzz is such a hot commodity. In the meantime, come on down to Nye Automotive Group to check out any other Volkswagen vehicles today.
