Volkswagen R

Recently, Volkswagen has stated that it wants the R brand to become more independent rather than being attached to vehicles like the Golf R32 or the Passat R model. Volkswagen is hoping that the R lineup will eventually become electric in the next few years and has already started with the Touareg R. There will be a ninth-gen electric Golf coming which could be an electric R model but it also could be the electric GTI version first. Another popular vehicle coming is the ID.Buzz GTX minivan that delivers a lot of power.

VW Touareg R eHybrid

A new car that is available to order is the Volkswagen Touareg R eHybrid which has a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder turbocharged engine plus an electric drive motor. Inside the vehicle, there is a 15-inch touchscreen new IQ. LIGHT HD headlights and Park Assist Pro. The cool thing about the Park Assist Pro feature is that drivers can control the car driving in and out of parking spaces from their smartphones on the Volkswagen app.

More impressive features include a panoramic sliding sunroof, lit-up “R” logos, blue or Crystal Grey interior stitching on the seats, and more. Aside from the Lapiz Blue metallic R exterior paint color, there is also the Silicon Grey matte color for the Touareg R eHybrid. Customers are excited to get their hands on this exciting new SUV to experience all its incredible features.

2026 Volkswagen Golf GTI EV

Volkswagen is working hard to produce a new car to enter the EV world, the Golf GTI EV, which will be in its eighth generation. A big goal for the latest Golf GTI EV model is to offer an easy and fun way to drive the vehicle. The Volkswagen Golf GTI EV will be made on the MEB 21 EV platform and produce 320 horsepower with the new APP550 motor, like the ID.7 sedan. The all-new Volkswagen Golf GTI EV will cost around $40,000 (plus destination fee) and is expected to go on sale in 2026.

2023 Volkswagen Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition

Volkswagen recently announced a brand new Golf R special edition to honor the 20th anniversary of the first-ever R32’s European launch. This unique anniversary edition model comes equipped with shiny black 19-inch Estori wheels, contrasting mirror caps, lights that project “20 R” onto the ground, blue R badges, and last but certainly not least, a one-of-a-kind 20th Anniversary badge on the B pillar. The Golf “R” also has all-wheel drive and an adaptive damping system. Only Europe will get certain trims that won’t be offered in the US, but the Golf R 20th anniversary edition is still too good to pass up.

There are currently only 1,800 units being offered, and any lucky person to be one of the owners of this exciting new car will get to choose between a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch. The manual transmission option for this vehicle is currently only available in North America. The 2023 VW Golf R 20th Anniversary Edition has a starting price of $44,940 (plus destination fee) for the manual model and $45,740 (plus destination fee) for the seven-speed DSG. There is 315 horsepower and 295 lb-ft torque in the available 7-speed DSG with no sunroof because Volkswagen says it saves weight. This special edition vehicle seats up to five and offers sport seats with Nappa leather upholstery and a blue R logo on the top part of the backrest. Another great feature is that there will be Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a WiFi hotspot.
