2024 Volkswagen Atlas & Atlas Cross Sport Gain More Safety Features

The newest 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport got a few improvements which included updated safety features, a more luxurious interior, and the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Improvements also come to the headlights and forward collision prevention technology for the new Atlas models. The Volkswagen brand has worked hard on improving these vehicles’ safety features, and they can confidently say that they have.
2024 Atlas/Cross Sport
Recently, Volkswagen stated that there will be a few updates for the <2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport. The new and improved SUV will arrive at U.S. dealerships soon, and customers can’t wait. The 2024 Atlas will have a starting price of $39,075, and the 2024 Atlas Cross Sport will start at $38,065 (both vehicles will have a $1,350 destination fee). Some new features include a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and a flexible passenger seat.
Volkswagen made six trim levels for the Atlas: SE, SE with Technology, Peak Edition SE with Technology, SEL, Peak Edition SEL, and SEL Premium R-Line. As for the Atlas Sport, it has five trims: SE, SE with Technology, SEL, SEL R-Line, and SEL Premium R-Line. Another significant change for the 2024 Atlas is its new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that replaces the VR6. This new engine helps the SUV get 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
More On The 2024 Models
The Volkswagen Atlas SUV is getting an updated look for its 2024 model with a sportier design. The three-row SUV reached an updated look back in 2021. The Atlas and the Atlas Cross Sport have modern designs, with new and improved grilles, headlamps, and taillamps. Except for the base model, every trim has a lit-up VW logo spread across the grille.
This vehicle will also offer 18- to 21-inch wheel sizes to help support this larger SUV. The car’s interior has even bigger updates, including excellent materials and accessible navigation features. The dashboard and console are surrounded by non-genuine leather, and the door panels have a friendly plastic or wood finish.
All dashboards have a 12.0-inch infotainment screen and a 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster. All systems come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging. More features include heated front seats and a voice-activated automatic climate control system. The Atlas can tow up to 5,000 lbs, the same as older models.
Another 2024 VW Model
With so many SUVs coming out, it may seem complicated to be in the spotlight, but that isn’t the case for the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan. For the S trim, there is the VW’s IQ.DRIVE system, adaptive cruise control, and lane-centering capabilities. New features for the base S trim are rain-sensing window wipers, automatic high beam headlamps, fake leather for the steering wheel, and wireless charging.
Under the hood of the 2024 Tiguan, there will be a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 184 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. The 2024 model gets 24 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. All models come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The base S trim has a 6.5-inch touchscreen, but the higher-end trims have an 8.0-inch screen.
